EN 1090 standard for the manufacture of steel structures

The EN 1090 is the harmonized European standard, which applies to load-bearing steel and aluminum structures. From July 2014, structures such as buildings, bridges and supports for, for example, silos must be made according to this standard. The EN 1090 standard has been published because from 1 July 2014 structural construction products must be CE marked, and a declaration of conformity must also be issued.

The EN 1090 standard has consequences for manufacturers of steel and aluminum structural parts for construction. This standard eliminates separate rules per country for the manufacture and trading of steel and aluminum structures.

Certified EN 1090 EXC4

Harpo NV is in possession of the EN 1090 certificate. The EN 1090 consists of different classes, Tosec is certified for EXC4 in accordance with standard EN 1090. The execution classes - and therefore also the structural parts - are classified from classes EXC1 to EXC4. These classes of the EN 1090 are intended to indicate the degree of control and control. The execution class EXC1 applies to low-load constructions and goes up to execution class EXC4 for heavily loaded constructions with increased risks.

Checks on certain processes such as cutting, drilling, welding and preservation are required. This is to ensure total control of the product so that the correct quality is delivered. We are EN 1090 certified up to and including S355 material.
