Autogenous and plasma cutting

Plasma cutting is a cutting technique using a plasma cutting machine (plasma cutter) for cutting sheet metal using plasma. The plasma is generated with an electric arc. A cut made with a plasma cutting machine is rounded off at the top, which means that finishing is often necessary for finishing. This is not the case with a laser cutting machine.
A plasma cutting machine consists of a power source, nozzle, ground cable, power supply wire and pressure line. An inert gas or compressed air is injected at high speed through the discharge line through the nozzle, while at the same time an arc is generated in the gas or the compressed air between a tungsten electrode and the workpiece, whereby a portion of the gas is converted into plasma.
